Product Range Life Cycle:

  • Extraction process ➞ 2.36 CO2-eq kg
  • Processing ➞ 0.238 CO2-eq kg
  • Distribution process ➞ 0.219 CO2-eq kg
  • End-of-life and recycling process ➞ 0

Information:

  • Sorting
Sorting must be carried out after separating the different components of the product, which allows for better material recovery and the retrieval of useful resources through specialized recycling channels. If the vermiculite is not contaminated by a hazardous liquid, it can be reused in several applications, especially horticulture. Its inert nature also allows it to be stored in landfills for inert waste when reuse is not possible.
  • Carbon footprint calculation
The calculated carbon footprint is based on the complete life cycle of the product. Existing recycling processes allow, in some cases, the recovery of energy from incineration and the temporary storage of carbon in biomass-derived materials. These figures are calculated directly by our partner Pickler, specialized in calculating the carbon footprint of packaging. The reliability of these figures is based on IDEMAT data of the materials used in our products. To bring together all our product ranges on this sheet and make it easier to understand the data relating to carbon footprint, we calculate here the carbon footprint of our packaging based on one kilogram of material.
